5-Unique-Types-of-Real-Estate-That-Could-be-Better-Than-a-Normal-House-to-Live-In

When it comes to finding the right property for your lifestyle, you need to be aware that not everyone is comfortable in a single-family home.

There are lots of different kinds of housing out there that you might not be aware of, and which could suit your personal taste better than a home that’s built for a couple or a family.

When looking at Houston lots for sale, you don’t have to shop for the same kinds of houses that everyone else is looking for.

You have the option to shop for the kind of home that suits you best.

This guide will help you find the house that you have always wanted.

Unique Types of Real Estate That Are Available in Houston

A Loft

There are various kinds of lofts, and you might want to consider this as an option when you are house shopping.

Soft lots are new buildings that are made in the loft style, but they are not actually repurposed old industrial buildings.

The traditional loft-style home is an industrial space that has been converted into living spaces.

Lofts have large, open spaces, visible ductwork, and exposed brick and concrete surfaces.

This is one of the coolest ways to access an open floor plan and to live in a truly unique living space that isn’t like any other place you have lived.

Lofts often have a single bedroom or maybe two, making them perfect for those just looking at their first home or for people who are single and want a trendy, cool place to call home.

Cottage

Cottages are sort of like tiny homes, but they are not made to be rolled from place to place behind a vehicle.

These homes are built on a standard foundation and typically are quite small and cozy.

If you love the idea of rustic charm, then a cottage is perfect for you!

Cottages are ideal for those who are looking for a really small and comfortable space to live in that is energy-efficient and simple to keep clean.

While this kind of home isn’t as common near Houston as other housing types, you can still find cottages for sale in the suburbs.

Pattern Book Homes

Many people don’t realize it, but in some of the older neighborhoods in and around Houston, there are lots of pattern book houses.

Usually built in the 19th century, these houses were stylish and well-made houses that were selected from a “pattern book”.

While houses are still made using patterns today, they often don’t have the charm of older pattern book homes.

Many of these homes will hail from the Victorian period and have lots of gables and added design notes that are truly inspiring and call back to a different time.

If you love older homes and have always dreamed of living in one, a pattern book home might be perfect for you!

Ranch-Style Homes

Ranch-style homes are often ideal for people looking for their first home or for those who want to upgrade and remodel to fit their specific needs and goals.

Ranch-style homes are perfect for the climate in Houston, allowing for shade and cross-ventilation as well as being simple enough in their construction style to be very modification-friendly.

A ranch home can be the ideal template for all kinds of modern upgrades, and if you love a fixer-upper, you will want to shop for this style of home.

However, there are just as many fully completed and upgraded ranch homes out there to choose from if you are not a fan of remodeling.

Tiny Homes

Tiny homes are becoming an increasingly available and affordable option for those who are looking for a house in the Houston area.

There are so many advantages to tiny home life.

You can move your tiny home with you wherever you go, and you can also park in areas of your choosing that offer amenities and scenery that you might not be able to access when you are shopping for traditional homes.

Tiny homes are often very cleverly designed and don’t require that you be comfortable with an RV setup or that you be an expert at living off the grid.

Your tiny home will be just like a regular home, but it will offer you the benefit of being fully portable so that you don’t have to give up the home that you love when you move from place to place.

Digital nomads or those who work in traveling positions often invest in tiny homes so that they can keep their house with them wherever they need to go.

Your tiny home will be perfect for Houston, and you have lots of places that you can choose to park your tiny home all around the heart of the city.

Finding a Unique House in Houston is Easier Than You Might Think

There are so many housing options that are truly cool and unique in the Houston area.

You don’t have to pick a standard home if that isn’t the kind of home that speaks to you.

There’s no reason to live in a house that you don’t love, and these alternate housing styles can make it simple to live in a home that you will adore.

These different kinds of houses can offer you the chance to craft a space that you fall in love with and that welcomes you home each day with open arms.

It’s easy to love living in the Houston area if you love the house that you have purchased.

Be sure to ask your realtor about the unique home types that you might be able to buy so that your house search is right on target for your specific goals and plans.

They should be able to help you to find all of the right housing options in and around Houston so that you can shop for the house of your dreams.
